Tip #2 The Fiery Grandma Brought Home From Convention

Realizing that we needed to attend the conference and bring our team with us was part of tip #1. Didn't get a chance to read it? Click here.

The next tip that hit home for me was one I knew all too well yet somehow it's impact was even greater than in years past. The realization that we NEVER stop growing personally was somewhat hard to swallow. It was very humbling actually.

Tip #2 – It’s a personal growth journey, don’t quit

There’s an old saying that goes like this, “Winners never quit and quitters never win”. I’m not sure where I heard that, but it has always stuck like glue inside my brain. Tenacity is one trait I’m glad to own and proudly display. Yet, I would learn that there is always something new to work on personally, always.

In our business our product is not Protandim or TrueScience Anti-aging Skin Cream. No, our product is people. In the people business we must develop the skills needed to work with, encourage and help develop them into the leaders we know they can be.

We must work on being a better listener than a talker. I thought I had great listening skills until a couple of phone calls with my friend Beth proved otherwise. She helped me by doing a three-way call with a couple of prospects. It was amazing listening to her ask questions and take note. What I heard and what she heard were two totally different conversations. Without her keen ear my two friends could have been led down the wrong road…I learned I needed to work on my listening skills.

Learning how to become a great leader is a process. We learned from some of the top leaders in the company. Sharing their journey helped us all to realize they are just like we are. They developed the skills through practice, failing and practicing again. Following the proven plan and blueprint to success is how they developed those skills. Why fix something that isn’t broken.

Part of that blueprint includes using our leaders for support. We all go through times in our lives where some are up and others are down. That’s why it’s called “support”. We lift each other up in our down time and vice versa. Gosh, don’t you just love a well thought out plan?

Hopefully, tip #2 will help you hang in there long enough to grow personally into the leader you have within you. It's just waiting for you to recognize and release those abilities that have been there all along. Sadly, many will quit on themselves before their time comes.

No homework this week. Simply share this with those you love, admire and care about. You may be the wind beneath their wings so they won't quit before it's their time.

Join us next week as I share tip #3. The final tip I brought home from LifeVantage Limitless Convention.
