It’s that time of year again. Time to start thinking about the weight we want to lose next year. But, why wait for New Year to start losing weight?
Are you tired of the constant battle with weight gain? If you are like me you have had it up to here with the yo-yo dieting that has happened for what seems like your whole life. At one point I was so sick and tired of trying to start losing weight that I threw my hands up in the air and just gave up. For some reason, I couldn’t bring myself to watch as that blasted scale kept creeping up. Finally, when I could no longer walk out the front door to get in the car without losing my breath I knew it was time to do something and quick. I felt just awful the worst I had felt my entire life!
What if I could share a cup of coffee with you and show you how simple it is to start losing weight? I know, sounds too good to be true, right? Trust me, it is true. It all started the week we were moving. A girlfriend I’ve known since high school posted a picture on Facebook of her before and after picture. I about spit out my coffee when I saw her. She looked amazing. It took all of five minutes to pick up the phone, call and ask her what she did to lose that weight. Her reply was, “I drank a cup of coffee every day”. As unbelievable as that sounds, it was true. She shared a couple of cups with me as I’m kind of a coffee snob. I don’t like strong, bitter coffee; yet, I don’t like cream or sugar either. This coffee surprised me, it was just the right strength, not bitter and I enjoyed the flavor.
The shocker came the second day and from the second cup of Joe when I noticed how I felt. Most people, myself included probably don’t “notice” how they feel after drinking that dark cup of “wake up” liquid. But, because my friend asked me to pay attention to how it made me feel, I did. Words really escaped me. The only way I could describe how I felt was “an overwhelming sense of calm”. Is that an oxymoron or what? Coffee, calm? Most coffee makes me feel like a thoroughbred at the gate, jittery and chomping at the bit. This coffee did not do that. To boot, my blood sugar didn’t spike and plummet in the afternoon and I got a ton of work done, much focused. There were more benefits that I would realize later, the longer I drank it, the more I noticed. But, that is for an update later.
