Why I'm Taking This Challenge Again

Last week, I looked at my calendar and realized I had signed up for Kim Ward's Pinterest Challenge.

Again.

Which made absolutely no sense.

At least not at first.

After all, I've already purchased Pinterest Marketing Academy.

I've spent years learning from Kim.

As one of her coaching students, I've had direct access to her.

I've worked alongside her.

Watching her teach helped immensely.

I've seen what goes on behind the scenes.

So why in the world would I sign up for another Pinterest training?

Good question.

I asked myself the same thing while drinking a latte and staring at my calendar. 😆

Then it hit me.

The answer has very little to do with Pinterest.

And everything to do with how successful bloggers continue growing.

The Biggest Mistake Bloggers Make

One of the biggest blogging mistakes I see is assuming that because we learned something once, we know it forever.

Bless our hearts.

That's not how blogging works.

It's not how SEO works.

And it's definitely not how Pinterest works.

The online world changes fast.

Google changes.

Pinterest changes.

Consumer behavior changes.

Even the way people search for information changes.

What worked two years ago may not work today.

What worked six months ago may already be less effective.

That's why blogging for traffic requires something many people don't talk about:

Staying curious.

The bloggers who continue increasing blog visibility aren't necessarily the smartest people in the room.

They're simply willing to keep learning.

Why Pinterest Still Matters For Bloggers

If you've been following my content lately, you know I've been talking a lot about blog traffic, SEO, and getting your content found.

Because here's the truth:

Writing the blog post is only half the job.

The other half is helping people discover it.

Unfortunately, many bloggers spend hours writing.

Then they hit publish.

Then they wait.

And wait.

And wait some more.

Meanwhile, they're wondering why nobody reads their blog.

I've been there.

For years, I thought my biggest problem was creating enough content.

Turns out my biggest problem was visibility.

People can't read what they can't find.

That's one reason Pinterest continues to interest me.

Unlike most social media platforms, Pinterest functions much more like a search engine.

People go there looking for solutions.

Ideas.

Products.

Inspiration.

Answers.

And unlike a Facebook post that disappears down the feed faster than leftovers at a family reunion, Pinterest content can continue driving traffic long after you create it.

That's what bloggers call evergreen traffic.

And evergreen traffic is one of the smartest assets you can build.

What Makes Kim Different

Let's be honest.

There are thousands of marketers online.

Some are fantastic.

Some are… well… better at marketing than they are at teaching. 😆

Every day seems to bring a new course, a new challenge, or a new “secret” strategy.

So why Kim?

Because I've seen her work.

Not from a webinar, a sales page, or from a social media post.

I've seen it firsthand.

Kim was my coach for several years.

We worked side by side.

She answered questions.

Shared strategies.

Provided feedback.

And most importantly, she never held anything back.

That's rare.

Very rare.

The thing I appreciate most is that Kim understands something many course creators don't.

Pinterest is a living, breathing platform.

It changes constantly.

As a result, Pinterest Marketing Academy isn't a course she created five years ago and forgot about.

She updates it.

Refines it.

Test new strategies.

Removes outdated information.

And then updates it again.

That's important because outdated traffic advice can cost bloggers months … or even years of wasted effort.

Why I Always Attend Training Like A Beginner

This may surprise you.

Every time I attend a training, coaching session, workshop, or challenge, I walk in with the mindset of a complete beginner.

Every single time.

Why?

Because I don't know what changed while I was busy doing the work.

For the last several months, I've had my head down creating blog content, researching keywords, publishing posts, and building visibility.

I've been focused on implementation.

Meanwhile, Pinterest kept evolving.

The platform didn't stop changing just because I was busy.

And that's exactly why I show up with a notebook and pen in hand.

I listen, take notes, and pay attention.

Because it never fails.

Every single training, I walk away with something valuable.

Sometimes it's a major strategy shift.

Sometimes it's one tiny adjustment.

And sometimes it's a reminder of something I already knew but forgot to apply.

Those little lessons often create the biggest results.

The Problem With Learning Once

Here's another thing I've learned.

Nobody remembers everything.

Well, maybe somebody does.

But it certainly isn't me. 😆

I can attend a fantastic workshop.

Take pages of notes.

Get excited.

Implement what I learned.

And six months later, I realize I've forgotten half of it.

That's not failure.

That's being human.

Most of us learn in layers.

First, we learn.

Then we implement.

And then we revisit.

Now we understand it at a deeper level because we now have experience to connect it to.

That's one reason I continue returning to good training.

Every time I revisit the material, I see something I missed before.

Or I understand something differently because my business has grown.

Or I discover a new way to apply what I'm learning.

That's where growth happens.

Why I Chose VIP

I'll be honest.

Part of the reason I joined as a VIP is that I wanted the replays.

Not because I plan to skip the live sessions.

Quite the opposite.

I plan to be there with my notebook, a pen, and probably a latte in hand. ☕😆

However, I also know myself.

I'll hear something valuable.

I'll implement it.

Then six months from now, I'll remember that Kim covered something important and want to revisit it.

That's the beauty of having access to the recordings.

It's a little like keeping Kim in my back pocket.

When Pinterest changes again … and it will … I know I'll have a trusted resource I can revisit.

For me, that's worth the extra investment.

Why This Matters For Bloggers

If you're blogging, affiliate marketing, creating content, or trying to grow an email list, visibility matters.

In fact, visibility may matter more than content volume.

Think about it.

Most bloggers don't need more content.

Most bloggers need more people to find the content they already have.

That's why I spend so much time talking about:

  • SEO for blog posts
  • blog traffic ideas
  • how to get more blog readers
  • keyword research
  • Pinterest traffic
  • content that gets found

Because the internet doesn't reward the person who publishes the most.

It rewards the person who helps the right people find the right content at the right time.

Pinterest can play an important role in that process.

Not because it's magic.

Not because it's a shortcut.

But it's one more way to help people discover the work you've already created.

My Invitation To You

If you've been wanting to learn more about Pinterest marketing for bloggers, I'd encourage you to join me.

Not because I earn a commission.

Not because it's only $7.

And not because I think Pinterest is the answer to every marketing problem.

I'm recommending it because I trust the person teaching it.

I've watched Kim teach.

I've watched her update her training and adapt to changes on the platform.

And I've personally benefited from what she's shared.

That's not something I say lightly.

My audience trusts me.

And I take that responsibility seriously.

So when I recommend something, it's because I'd feel comfortable spending my own money on it.

In this case, I did.

Again.

The Bigger Lesson

This article isn't really about Pinterest.

It's about staying teachable.

It's about staying curious.

And it's about understanding that successful bloggers don't stop learning once they publish their first post or complete their first course.

They continue learning.

They continue refining.

And they continue improving.

Because platforms change.

Search behavior changes.

Marketing changes.

Yet the willingness to learn remains one of the most valuable skills a blogger can develop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Pinterest still worth using for bloggers?

Yes.

Pinterest remains one of the best platforms for evergreen traffic because content can continue appearing in search results long after it's published.

Can Pinterest help drive blog traffic?

Absolutely.

Pinterest functions more like a search engine than a traditional social media platform, which makes it useful for driving traffic to blog posts, lead magnets, and websites.

What is Pinterest SEO?

Pinterest SEO is the process of optimizing your profile, boards, pins, and descriptions so your content appears in Pinterest search results.

How often should bloggers use Pinterest?

Consistency matters more than volume. A steady Pinterest strategy is generally more effective than pinning heavily for a few days and then disappearing.

Is this challenge beginner-friendly?

Yes. Whether you're brand new to Pinterest or have been using it for years, the challenge is designed to help creators understand current Pinterest best practices.
