Monday mornings can either be a chaotic mess or a fresh start—it all depends on how you manage your time. This week, I decided to take control of my schedule using a few simple yet powerful time management tools, and let me tell you… game changer!
The Brain Dump – Clearing the Mental Clutter
Before I even thought about tackling my tasks, I grabbed a notebook and did a full brain dump … writing down everything swirling in my head. Big projects, tiny errands, random thoughts … it all went on paper. This helped me see what actually needed my attention instead of just reacting to whatever popped into my brain first.
Now, I can’t take credit for this genius idea. I partnered with a brilliant guide named Martha, who hosts a Facebook group and walks us through the steps of effective brain dumps every week. Thanks to her guidance, I finally learned how to clear the mental clutter and focus on what truly matters.

It’s a game-changer for clearing mental clutter and finally getting focused on what truly matters. Trust me, you don’t want to do this alone!
Prioritizing My Top 3 Projects
Once I had my mess of a list in front of me, I picked my top three priorities for the week. Why three? Because anything more and I start feeling overwhelmed (and let’s be real, I’m not here for that). These were the big wins … the projects that would move my business forward the most. Everything else? It would get scheduled only if time allowed.
The Pomodoro Technique – Staying Focused
Next up, I used the Pomodoro Technique … working in focused 25-minute sprints with 5-minute breaks in between. This kept me from burning out while keeping distractions at bay. Plus, if any phone calls came in for my auto transport business, I could tend to them and then get back to my focused task. Seriously, knowing a break is coming makes it way easier to power through a task without checking my phone every five minutes.
Time Blocking … Structuring My Day for Success
After setting my priorities, I plugged them into my schedule using time blocking … dedicating specific time slots for deep work, emails, and even breaks. Instead of just “fitting things in,” I made appointments with myself to actually get things done. And guess what? It worked! I ended Monday with a completed section of my to-do list (and a celebratory cup of coffee, obviously). ☕
