Email Writing TipsLet’s just say it:

I used to write emails that could put a squirrel to sleep.

You know the kind … long, clinical, zero personality. Like a leftover business memo from the '90s. I was so focused on “sounding professional” that I forgot to sound like me.

Turns out, if you're trying to figure out how you can write better emails, the answer is not by writing like a corporate zombie. It’s by sounding like a human, preferably the human your audience wants to hear from.

So I threw out the stiff intros and started doing what works: telling real stories, using my real voice (yes, even the snark), and connecting like a normal person who happens to run her business from a blog.

The Turning Point: When I Ditched Boring for Real

I finally admitted it … my emails weren’t getting opened because they weren’t worth opening.
They were information-heavy, joke-light, and stuffed with too much “how-to” and not enough “why you should care.”

So I tried something different.
I started writing like I talk. Like this. And everything changed.

Subscribers replied.

Leads turned into conversations.

And my blog traffic grew, because I was finally writing better emails that didn’t sound like announcements from my high school principal.

What I Wish I Knew About Email Marketing (Before the Burnout)

I used to spend hours trying to “get it right.” And still? Crickets.
So let’s fix that, shall we?

If you’re wondering how you can write better emails, here’s what works:

🟢 Write like a real person.
Yes, that means contractions, personality, and even a little side-eye if that’s your vibe.

🟢 Use your blog to back it up.
Your blog isn’t just for SEO … it’s your home base. My blog is my affiliate marketing strategy. It’s where I connect, convert, and send my email list when they want more.

🟢 Hook them fast.
Don’t save your best stuff for the end … your reader might already be halfway to hitting delete.

🟢 Give actual value.
Make them laugh, teach them something useful, or share a story they’ll remember. Then sell. In that order.

🟢 Tell them what to do next.
Don’t hint. Don’t suggest. Just say it. “Click here.” “Download this.” “Read the blog.” Like the boss you are.

But Let’s Be Honest… None of That Matters If You Don’t Have Leads

Yep, I said it.

You can learn to write better emails all day, but if no one’s reading them? You’re just journaling with better formatting.

You need fresh leads … people who want to hear from you. And you need a simple system to bring them in daily. That’s why my blog is more than a content hub; it’s my traffic driver, my authority builder, and my place to say what social media won’t let me say.

Blogging is no longer optional in this affiliate game. It’s my affiliate marketing strategy, my business engine, and my sanity saver.
