Blogging For BusinessThe Fiery Grandma's Journey to Affiliate Marketing Freedom

Let me take you back.

Before I was the blog-powered profit strategist you see today … before I built a business that lets me work two hours a day in leggings, sip gut-healthy juice, and still pay the bills … I was a full-time banker. Yep. Suits, pantyhose, panty lines, and all.

I clocked in at 8, clocked out at 5, and gave my life to that job. For years.

Everyone thought I was “successful.” I had the career. The benefits. The security.

But behind the scenes?

I was suffocating.

This fiery grandma had dreams bigger than spreadsheets and signature cards. I was smiling at the teller window, but inside I was screaming for more. I craved more time. Dreamed of more purpose. Who doesn't want more freedom?

The First Pivot: I Bought the Dream

So I left the bank. Yep, bold move. Brave? Maybe. Terrifying? Absolutely.

I jumped into entrepreneurship like most everyday entrepreneurs … wide-eyed, hopeful, and totally unprepared. I opened a brick-and-mortar business that I thought would give me the freedom I craved. Instead?

It owned me.

I traded one trap for another. Except this time, I couldn’t just take a sick day … I was the boss. Payroll, customers, employees, marketing, taxes… and oh, did I mention I was also trying to raise a family?

I barely had time to breathe, let alone enjoy life.

But I didn’t quit. Nope. That’s not how this grandma rolls.

Because I believe something deep down that drives everything I do:

“If I can, so can you.”

So when I realized the brick-and-mortar dream wasn’t it, I pivoted again.

The MLM Rollercoaster Ride

Enter: network marketing.

You know the pitch: “Residual income! Freedom! Build your business around your life!”

And at first, I was all in. I’m not afraid to work hard, and I’ve always been good with people. So I hit the ground running.

Zoom calls. Party plans. Home meetings. Training after training after training. I even built a pretty big team (in my eyes).

But behind the highlight reels?

I was exhausted. Drained. Chasing people like a desperate ex. And let me just say … it’s not a good look.

I hated what it turned me into.

That wasn't the business I wanted. That wasn’t the life I wanted.

So guess what?

Yup… another pivot.

Finding Affiliate Marketing (AKA The “Aha!” Moment)

By now, most people would’ve thrown in the towel. Not me.

I may be an ex-network marketer, but I’m not a quitter.

That’s when I discovered affiliate marketing. It doesn't require home parties. Absolutely no inventory. Weird team names or upline drama? None.

Just real solutions for real people … like me, shared through blogging for business, email marketing, and smart tools that work 24/7, even when I’m cuddled up with my bulldog Sophie watching reruns of “Golden Girls.”

And it finally clicked.

I could still help people. I could still earn. But now, I was doing it my way using systems. My sanity remains intact and with boundaries.

Everyday Entrepreneurs, This One’s for You

Have you ever stared at your computer thinking, “There’s got to be a better way…”
If you’ve ever felt crushed under a dream that turned into a burden…
Have you ever wanted to quit, but that little fire in your belly whispered, “Keep going…”

Then, friend, you’re not alone. You’re my people.

Because I’ve been there. I am you.

I’m an everyday entrepreneur who finally found a way to work smarter, not harder, and I’m here to hand you the match to light your own fire.

If you’re tired of being bossed around by social media algorithms, burned out by broken business models, or wondering whether you’re “too late” to start something new … let me be the one to tell you…

You’re not too old. Too late to get started? NO! You’re just getting started.

I’m proof that affiliate marketing, done right, can give you your life back.

And blogging for business? That’s your golden ticket to building something sustainable, searchable, and smart.

Because you don’t need to post 10 times a day or slide into awkward DMs to make this work.

You need a system, a voice, and a little snarky fire.

And you, my friend, are in the right place.

🔔 Next up in my journey: I’ll share how I traded one trap (banking) for another (my first business) and nearly lost myself in the process … before I finally learned how to build real freedom, one smart tool at a time.

Let me remind you:
I’m not quitting. And if I can… so can you.
