Fix Your Failing Blog PostYou ever walk away from your blog for a few days and wonder if it’ll even notice you’re gone?

Well, I did. Three full days. No laptop, Pinterest, and no “let me just tweak this one headline…” And guess what? I came back with more clarity, energy, and sarcasm than ever. (Surprised?)

Hi, I’m Carla Gardiner, your everyday entrepreneur, your snarky truth-teller, and your no-fluff affiliate marketing resource guide. And if your blog feels like it’s ghosted by Google, ignored by readers, or just plain invisible?

It’s time we fix that … today.

🎯 First, Why Your Blog Might Be Failing (Yep, I Said It)

Let’s be real. If your blog post feels like a stiff essay your high school English teacher would grade with a red pen, chances are your readers aren’t sticking around. And I don’t blame them.

Here’s where you might actually be going wrong:

  • Writing at people, not for them.

  • Using generic blog post templates that strip your story of personality.

  • You’re waiting for everything to be perfect before hitting publish (newsflash: it won’t be).

  • You’re posting once a quarter, then wondering why nobody’s coming back for more.

Sound harsh? Maybe. But also accurate.

💡 Real People Want Real Stories

Back when I first started blogging (with my dial-up internet and hot coffee in hand), I thought I had to sound like a professional blogger from a magazine.

Spoiler alert: that didn’t work.

What did work? Getting real. Sharing a story. Posting what I was learning. The moment I dropped the guru-speak and showed up as myself … complete with grandma jokes, Blue Moon cravings, and a slightly messy desk … people started reading. Commenting. Sharing.

👉 Want to see how? I’ve got a free gift for you at the end of this post. Just saying. 😉

✍️ Blog Posts That Actually Work

Let’s take the mystery out of this. Here's what a good blog post really needs:

  • A clear headline that grabs attention (not: “Thoughts on Life”, please no)

  • An intro that tells your reader why they should care

  • Real-life examples, stories, and a few stumbles you’ve made along the way

  • A call to action (what should they do after reading?)

  • Some SEO love (keywords like: blog post sample, blogging for business, SEO blog post sample)

Want a real-world blog post sample format? My checklist breaks it down step-by-step, but spoiler alert: it’s simpler than you think.

💬 Waitress vs. Blogger (Bet You Didn’t See That Coming)

Think about this … a blogger is basically a digital waitress. Hear me out.

Your audience walks into your online restaurant (aka blog) hungry. They want something specific: info, solutions, a laugh, or all three. Your job? Serve it up with style.

Some want blog tips. Others want inspiration. A few just came for the baked potato (okay fine, the Pinterest strategy). Doesn’t matter. You’ve got to know your menu … and deliver.

So ask yourself:

  • Who am I really writing for?

  • What are they struggling with?

  • What do I know that could help them today?

Then write that. No filler. No fluff, or trying to be someone you’re not.

💥 Authenticism: Yes, It’s a Word (Now)

I see you. Thinking:
“But Carla, there are already a million bloggers writing about what I do.”

Right. But none of them is you.

None of them has your:

  • Snark

  • Voice

  • Grandma wisdom

  • Life experience

  • Way of explaining things like a real human, not a TikTok caption robot

Authenticity + blogging = traction. (Or as I call it: authenticism. If Shakespeare made up words, so can I.)

🧭 Your Shortcut to Blog Posts That Get Seen, Read, and Shared

If you’ve ever asked:

  • What do I write in a blog post?

  • What’s a good blog post example?

  • Why isn’t anyone clicking my links?

…you’re not alone. I’ve been there, with the tears, the zero clicks, the crickets.

But you don’t have to stay there.

I created a free shortcut … a simple, realistic checklist that shows you how to write blog posts that rank on Google, connect with real people, and (finally) start working for you.

👉 No more guessing. No more staring at the blinking cursor.
Just blog posts that help you grow your email list, get found, and actually make money.

🧼 Final Words (Yes, I’ll Step Off My Soapbox Now)

If no one’s told you today: your voice matters.

Your blog doesn’t have to be perfect. You don’t need a team of ghostwriters or a $10,000 website. You just need to show up, consistently, as yourself … messy bun, burned toast, and all.

Because trust me: your people are out there waiting to hear it from you.

And when they do?

That failing blog?
Yeah… It’s about to become your most powerful business tool yet.
