When The Student Is Ready the Teacher Appears
Have you ever wanted to share your dream with others? If you are like me you have at some point just like many women over 50. You probably got all excited until you realized you had no idea how to go about getting your message out to there, right?
About seven years ago I met this gal on Facebook. We actually connected through another friend and met on the phone in a business class. Together we learned the basics of how to set up a blog to share our dream. As we worked our way through the logistics of blogging, we graduated to writing emails. It seemed to take forever learning how to put all the pieces of the puzzle together; but, we did it, we learned how to build a blog and write emails.
As time rolled on many things changed, including my friend and me. She worked as a nurse and I worked as an auto transport broker. Two different worlds, two different women, yet one common cause and direction to share our dream with other women over 50 who needed what we had.
A few days ago, that same friend, Angela Brooks hosted a webinar. She had invited me to take part in her test program. As I worked my way through the videos I couldn’t get enough fast enough. The way she teaches cleared up some of the mud I had been wading through for years. She has a way about her to break what appeared to me to be “hard” into bite-size pieces. Those pieces were the steps she took to build her six-figure income working part-time from her smartphone and tablet. I wanted that, yet five years ago I quit.
After Angela asked me to test her program I was like a kid in a candy store. I couldn’t wait to get the whole enchilada. That day finally came. Right this moment, I am savoring every recorded video, taking every baby step in her direction. If only I hadn’t quit. If only I believed in myself the way she had for all those years.
STOP RIGHT THERE!!!
That is how I used to talk to myself. Lack of confidence can kill your dream in a heartbeat. You must be your biggest cheerleader to share your dream. Today there is no looking back. Those years, classes, ups and downs all molded us into who we are today. Without those lessons, the teacher wouldn’t have appeared to the student.
Everyone puts puzzles together in a different manner. Embrace your gifts, your uniqueness, and march on up that hill. If you need a cheerleader, if you need someone to work beside, maybe we could do it together.
I’m looking for women over 50 who are sick and tired of being told no. Those who are ready to take that next step, to believe in something, someone, namely YOU. If I can do it so can you, all it takes is a desire planted so deeply the flame won’t blow out. Come on, the door is open. Let’s do this together. The first step is admitting it to yourself, then reply to this email. Tell me, I’m in … let’s go!
Carla Gardiner is a mom of 2, the fiery grandma of 7 and has been married to her husband for 38 years. She is focused, and driven; a business owner who made a big move in her late 50’s which rocked her world. Transitioning from her native hometown to her new home 3 states away took guts, work, and dedication to get the job done. Now, she is focused on helping other women handle life’s changes after 50 while making the transition to their retirement lifestyle; one they’ve been dreaming of instead of the nightmare it could become.
